Unfinished Business Television is watching from across the street as we take a DEEP DIVE into the 1987 box-office hit STAKEOUT, starring Richard Dreyfuss, Emilio Estevez, Madeleine Stowe, Aidan Quinn, and Dan Lauria Directed by John Badham, Stakeout tries an ambitious cocktail of genres: part buddy-cop action comedy, part police thriller, and part surprisingly steamy romance. Somehow, right in the middle of all this, Hollywood decided it was time to turn Richard Dreyfuss into a romantic sex symbol. And you know what? We’re talking about it. And looking at the movie today, we have to ask: Is secretly watching somebody through their windows still romantic when you’re Richard Dreyfuss—or is that getting you blocked, reported, and caught on somebody’s doorbell camera in 2026?
